Welcome everyone! ... If you came here looking for Vintage Black Friday ... you've found it! ... if you came looking for something else today, well ... why not give Vintage Black Friday a go?
We will be playing once a month ... the first Friday of each month, the only 'rules' of the game are VINTAGE and BLACK. Come on ... show us what you've got, you've shared your luscious pinks and lovely whites ... today is the day to bring out the VINTAGE BLACK .... now don't be shy ... you know you have a piece or two just waiting for the moment it deserves in the spotlight ...
Here's my latest acquisition of vintage black ... an old black and chippy ornate wood frame ... okay, maybe a bit dusty, too.
What I like best about this print and frame is how well they balance each other ... the frame alone could appear very 'hard' or 'heavy' ... however, paired with this sweet boy drawing water at the rose covered well seems to soften the frames heaviness .... the colors of the print are rich and striking, also in harmony with the frame.
I'm pleased with the the fact that even though this is a picture of a boy and a black frame it still captures that rustic romantic feeling ... I'm used to seeing romantic, shabby, chippy, and white with pink roses and all the feminine touches so frequently {don't get me wrong, I LOVE that too!} I was over-the-top happy to find such a 'pretty' piece of art for my dining room that worked with my color of the moment - red!
His britches match the walls perfectly!!
Oh, and look at all that cracked, chipped, and peeled goodness .... every inch is crackled with age.
Thank you for coming by for a looky-look ... now make sure you linky-up so we can see all the Vintage Black you've been holding back ... heck, take the VBF button, too ... we don't mind ... the more the merrier!!
xo
