Romancing the Sideboard

Hi Everyone!
wishing you a wonderful Valentine's Week.

Each new season or holiday I really enjoy re-doing my hall sideboard,
that's right next to the kitchen.

I love white chippy furniture as a backdrop
for all my holiday and seasonal vintage goodies.

This month I went romantic with an old candy box,
vintage Valentines, and a chippy pie server holding rosy antique teapots.

This is my little Lefton ceramic candy box

And a pink vintage putz house that refused to leave after Christmas!

I layered a couple of old mirrors,
and I think I may keep them here for awhile.

Old Russell Stovers mega candy box.
(someone had a real sweet tooth!)

And vintage cake servers in a pink depression glass ice bucket

Sunroom Sneak Peek for White Wednesday

Hi there...
it's Debra from Common Ground.

One of my real pleasures is changing out my sunroom decor,
for the new season or holiday.
It's attached to my kitchen,
so visually it's a big part of how I decorate.

While I might love French Country
this space is totally "cottage".

I thought I'd share a little from my baker's rack
that's always changing for the seasons.

I found this Guy Wolff Pottery
at Restoration Hardware this fall.

All the pieces weren't white,
so my handy gallon of paint did the trick.

My miniature garden and some squirrels
are joining the turkey today.

Please join me Friday for the rest of the Sunroom.

A Shabby White Wednesday

Do you ever want to try a simple little project,
but for whatever reason it just never comes together?

Well, everything fell into place last Sunday
when I had found a perfect old lampshade.

My crystal prisms were within easy reach,
the French Crinkle ribbon from Polly was in the cupboard,

and a beautiful crystal lamp
was just waiting for it's shining moment.

With a few minutes inspiration
I had what I'd been waiting for...

My little Shabby Lampshade!

And here she is dressed for Fall
in some Bittersweet.

I'm enjoying having her in my studio these Fall Evenings.
Her reflection in the mirror,
maximizes her cozy glow.

Sometimes things in our lives "sit on the shelf",
Until God's perfect timing brings them all together...
at just the right time.

Then all the elements find their synchronicity
And a thing of beauty emerges.

Have a Wonderful White Wednesday, dear friends.

Love,
Debra
